About the Artist
Koray Avcı
Mustafa Erkin Koray (24 Haziran 1941, İstanbul - 7 Ağustos 2023, Toronto), Türk Anadolu rock sanatçısıdır. Anadolu rock, psikedelik rock ve hard rock türünde çok sayıda özgün eseri bulunmaktadır. Sanatçı, Anadolu'nun kültürel mirasını da korumaya katkıda bulunmuş, birçok türküyü yeniden düzenlemiş ve dinleyiciyle buluşturmuştur. Doğu ve Batı müzikleri üzerine gerçekleştirdiği özgün çalışmalarıyla birçok müzisyeni etkilemiştir. Türk halk müziği repertuarından "Cemalim" ve "Köprüden Geçti Gelin", Türk sanat müziği repertuarından ise "Nihansın Dideden" ve "Kıskanırım" gibi eserleri yorumlamış; bu çalışmalarla Anadolu rock tarzına önemli katkılarda bulunmuştur. Şaşkın (Ala Ain Moulayiteen) (Dabke), Estarabim, Çöpçüler, Fesuphanallah gibi Arabesk-rock parçaların yanında Mesafeler, Yağmur ve Gün Doğmuyor gibi psikedelik rock'a uzanan ve Krallar, Akrebin Gözleri, Öfke gibi metal müzik olarak nitelendirilebilen birçok çalışmaya imza atmıştır. 1960'ların sonuna doğru bağlamanın sesini müzik yapılan mekânlarda daha çok duyurmak ve rock müziğinde de kullanabilmek için Orhan Gencebay ile elektro bağlamayı geliştirmiştir.
