About the Artist
Rafet El Roman
Rafet El Roman, asıl adıyla Rafet Yaşdut — 25 Ağustos 1968’de Edirne / Havsa’da doğdu. Ailesi 1970’te Almanya’ya göç ettiğinde, ilkokul hayatının bir kısmını Türkiye’de geçirdikten sonra ailesinin yanına taşındı. Genç yaşta müzikle ilgilenmeye başlayan Rafet, 16 yaşında ilk söz ve beste denemelerini yaptı. Müziğe ilk ciddi adımını Almanya’da attı — 1992’de Saarlaendischer Rundfunk radyosu tarafından “Yılın En İyi Yeteneği” seçildi, 1994’te Frankfurt Kültür Festivali’nde “Media Artist Award” kazandı. 1995’te Türkiye’ye dönüp çıkardığı ilk solo albüm Gençliğin Gözyaşı ile büyük çıkış yaptı; albüm, kısa sürede geniş bir dinleyici kitlesi kazandı. Rafet El Roman, 1990’lar-2000’ler boyunca “pop & romantik Türkçe pop” tarzında şarkılarla tanındı. Söz yazarı, besteci ve vokalist olarak; “Seni Seviyorum”, “Sürgün”, “Yalancı Şahidim” gibi şarkılarla hit oldu. Ayrıca sinema ile de ilgilendi: 1999’da Propaganda filminde, 2000’de Dar Alanda Kısa Paslaşmalar filminde rol aldı. Yıllar içinde birçok albüm yayınladı, hem sahne hem prodüksiyon tarafında aktif kaldı. Günümüzde de müzik kariyerine devam ediyor ve hem eski dinleyicilerini koruyor hem yenilerle buluşuyor. Rafet El Roman, duygusal melodileri, güçlü yorum gücü ve üretkenliğiyle Türk pop tarihinin saygın isimlerinden biri.
