About the Artist
Kurtalan Ekspres
Kurtalan Ekspres, Barış Manço'nun 1972 yılında kurduğu ve ölümüne dek birlikte çalıştığı Anadolu rock grubu. Grup, ismini Haydarpaşa-Kurtalan hattında çalışan Kurtalan Ekspresi'nden almıştır. Kurtalan Ekspres 1972'den bu yana çeşitli kişilerle çalışmıştır. Başlangıçta Murat Ses, Celal Güven, Caner Bora ile başlayan grup 1976'dan itibaren Kılıç Danışman ve Ahmet Güvenç'in katılımıyla devam etmiş, 1978'den sonra Ömür Gidel ve Bahadır Akkuzu da katılmıştır. 1975-1985 yılları arasında yapılan çalışmalarda Barış Manço'nun didaktik ve duyarlı kaleminin yanı sıra Kurtalan Ekspres'in yenilikçi müzik anlayışı döneme damgasını vurmuştur. Grup, Manço'nun yıllarca hazırlayıp sunduğu Adam Olacak Çocuk ve 4×21 Doludizgin programlarının orkestrası olarak yer almıştır. Yıllarca Barış Manço'nun orkestralığını yürütmüş olan bu grup, Barış Manço'nun vefatından sonra bir dönem Cem Karaca ile kendi şarkılarıyla grupta yer almıştır. Grubun kuruluşundan bu yana birçok üye değişmiş ve Barış Manço, Cem Karaca ve Bahadır Akkuzu'yu anmak ve şarkılarda yaşatmak üzere grubun şefi olan Ahmet Güvenç var gücüyle bu grubu yürütmeye devam ediyor.
